"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." — Marcus Garvey
Hi there. My name is James, but I go by Drew.
This is a curated portfolio of my best work thus far in grad school. My personal interests and academic writings are based on a foundation of historical and anthropological frameworks. From this I hope to contribute to the emerging field of digitization that museums, archives, institutions, and so many other places within the confines of the public humanities are only now tackling. Like time, people and their cultures are always changing; yet what they leave behind physically should also be preserved through new and emerging digital technologies. We typically like to think of the physical world as separate from the digital realm of the internet yet there exists a netherworld between the two; that is the ultimate focus of my research.
Please look around and take a gander of what I've written and done in my first year as a grad student. If you're interested, please feel free reach out to me.
